Cookie notice
Last updated:
This notice explains the browser storage and optional tags used by QR Code Generator. The generator, preview, download and share features work with essential storage only.
Categories
- Essential — always on
- Used for the consent record, security and basic preferences such as theme. The theme key is
qr-code-generator-theme. - Analytics — optional
- Allows configured Google Tag Manager and optional direct Google Analytics 4 tags to load after analytics consent.
- Advertising — optional
- Allows configured Google AdSense advertising to load after advertising consent.
Your banner choices
The first-party banner does not block the generator. Accept all enables analytics and advertising. Reject non-essential disables both. Customise lets you choose analytics and advertising separately, then Save choices records your selection.
The Cookie settings control in the footer reopens your current choices. Close or Escape dismisses that reopen and does not save changes or rewrite the decision time.
How the choice is stored
The consent record is saved in local storage under qr-code-generator-consent. It contains essential, analytics and advertising choices plus a canonical ISO updatedAt timestamp. Missing, corrupt or invalid state is treated as no choice, so the banner asks again.
If persistent browser storage is blocked, the app keeps the choice in memory for this visit so its tag gates still follow that choice. The choice may need to be made again on a later visit.
When optional tags load
Analytics and advertising tags do not load until there is a valid consent choice for that category and the matching public environment IDs are present and valid. Unset or malformed IDs keep the integration offline, even after consent.
Withdrawing a category removes the corresponding script elements and ad content owned by this app. Code a third party has already executed cannot be fully unloaded by browser JavaScript.
Future hosted mode
Hosted short-path QR codes, user accounts, Firebase and scan analytics are not available in v1. They are described in the Privacy Policy only as a possible later direction. See the Terms of Use for the service terms.
